"REIGN COATS are referring to a 16th century 'Persian carpet jinbaori', that is exhibited in the Kodaiji Temple in Kyoto, Japan

https://www.kyohaku.go.jp/eng/syuzou/meihin/senshoku/item06.html.

A jinbaori is a traditional Japanese vest made to wear over armor by a samurai. The textile in this case though is not of Japanese origins, but most probably might have been imported via the silk road from Kashan, Persia. Placing textiles on the floor, however, was not common for Japanese life style, so in this case the carpet was tailored into a jinbaori for the reigning samurai Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

With REIGN COATS, Anahita Razmi is creating new versions of this 'high value object of a cultural misunderstanding', by creating a series of contemporary high value Persian carpet jinbaoris."
