In a similar vein as her other artworks such as REIGN COATS and her رکوردھا / RECORDS / レコード series, Mountain Mama (Fuji/Damavand) examines relationships and histories between Iran and Japan, questioning notions of heritage, home and belonging. Drawing references from her own mixed background, her transcultural artistic practice is exploring contextual, geographical, and ideological shifts - producing testing grounds for possibilities of import/export, hybrid identities, and the constructions and ambiguities of cultural representation.
