Carbon 12 is delighted to present a group booth for the inaugural edition of Frieze Abu Dhabi, featuring works by Sarah Almehairi, Bernhard Buhmann, Edgar Orlaineta, and Amba Sayal-Bennett. Working across materials, language, and the assembly of identity, each artist raises different lines of questioning through their compositions. As Orlaineta preserves stories and traditions through crafted materials, Almehairi engages space, structure, and abstraction as evolving systems. Buhmann’s complex geometric forms coexisting with figurative elements explore the mechanisms of identity construction, while Sayal-Bennet interrogates language, labor, and systems of power that examine how meaning is circulated and controlled.
